Teens are incredibly creative and adore craft. I’ve always loved seeing the creations of my very own kids using NZ shop bought items.
Here are a couple of concepts that youths can have some fun with :
1. Make your own lip gloss. By mixing kool-aid powder with Vaseline, you can create several tastes of lip gloss. Melt the Vaseline in the microwave. Try it 30 seconds at a go. Mix the kool-aid and microwave one more time, again 30 seconds. Mix and then allow to chill. Once its cool enough to touch, move the Vaseline into its final storage container and allow to cool down totally. You won’t find these at any NZ Shop.
2. Do Not purchase gift wrap and gift tags from your NZ shop. Rubber stamps can create the most magnificent wrapping paper and gift tags. We use both ink pads and also pens on our stamps. The white glossy wrapping paper and gift tags can be purchased through a paper provider. We really buy small cards and then punch holes in them, for present tags. With corner punchers you create wonderful outleines on the gift cards. We also enjoy making greeting cards with rubber stamps.
3. Sweet trees. Commence with a pot. Paint or decorate to your taste. Put styrofoam in the base of the pot. Now create the plant with a selection of candy, wire and sticks. You may add crepe flowers. Use hard candies or chocolate kisses to cover the plastic.
4. Teens like to create clothing. Sewing fabric onto the base of trousers, or the pockets of trousers can create days of laughter.
5. Kids like to scrapbook. My daughter can sometimes take enough photos in a single day for a whole album. They can scrapbook any activity or club they belong to. They can also take stills at sports games and scrapbook those. The concepts for a teenager and a scrapbook are limitless at a great NZ shop.
6. Knitting and crocheting. You will find thousands of free patterns online or at a local NZ shop. Teens can make everything from purses, to boxes, to clothes. With string, instead of yarn, you can make bedspreads and table decorations. With rug yarn, you can create a rug for your bathroom or lounge.
7. Bulletin boards to hang on the NZ shop wall. My child adores her bulletin boards. Get a easy wood frame board. The frame can be painted or decorated to the kids liking. Photos or poems or even homework can be put up on the bulletin board once complete.
This is merely a little sample of the various craft you can suggest to your Teens when next at your NZ Shop .
