Through the years there have been many different kinds of fitness shows that have been aired. People like Richard Simmons have built their empires by showing us how to sweat with the oldies or some other variation that we could watch. On TV now people can tune into a show that is called The Biggest Loser.

Since it first came on the air, The Biggest Loser has helped people lose a lot of weight. People on the chow compete to see who can achieve the highest percentage of weight loss over the season. They don’t lose the weight by popping in a video that shows them how to do six pack ab exercises, instead they take them through a rigorous training regime that was originally designed for professional athletes who are getting ready to compete in the upcoming season. Many of the contestants have made miraculous transformations while on the show. The people who have competed shed an enormous amount of pounds and emerged much healthier than before they were on the show.

Many of the seasons of the reality show have shown variations of the basic premise. What originally started as a competition pitting strangers against each other has evolved into something else. They have had versions where people who are related in some way come on the show and lose the weight together. Another version of the show involved families. The contestants competed together as they all tried to drop more pounds than the other team. These contests put one family against another family instead of putting several individuals against each other. The families were only spotlighted on two or three episodes before the winner was announced, so these families had to work together in order for them to learn how to lose weight fast and to allow them to lose more weight than the other team. The groups were taken away to a location that had special equipment and personnel to assist them at the start of their program, but they didn’t remain there for the entire season. The teams were shown how to look to the rest of the family to do the ideal that they could.

The families found out that losing weight as a group was easier than doing it alone, something that because of websites such as the biggest loser forum, have granted others to also discover when they start their weight loss journey. Finding other people who are in similar situations is always an asset when someone is trying to lose weight. It is helpful to be able to lean on someone else when you’re having difficulties sticking with a diet. Finding a partner can make it easier to stick with an exercise plan. When a fitness plan is easier, it is usually more effective. The Biggest Loser families focused on the idea of using a support group. It is not unusual for several people who are related to be struggling with similar issues including carry too many pounds. Often times the various members of a family will eat the same bad foods that the others eat. Children tend to mimic the way that they see adults eat, and if adults eat the wrong foods, so do the children.

The show took these families that had developed the bad habits, and taught them new good habits. By being on the reality show, the parents and the kids were bought together in a way that they had not experienced before. The families spent time together working out and cheering each other on. When one person needed the help to keep going, they’d another family member pushing them along. The members of the family seemed to take more enjoyment out of the success of the other family members than their own success. It allowed this season of the Biggest Loser to be completely different than previous seasons.

The family platform of the show was a few years ago. The idea behind television is to attract viewers and to do that the Biggest Loser keeps reinventing itself. Fortunately we’ll be able to see the Biggest Loser Families through the magic of cable TV and the amount of hours that they need to fill with some type of programming.
