Some parents don’t know how to take an active role in boosting their children’s self-esteem and confidence. They try many alternatives but confidence rarely is the final result. This is primarily due to a lack of knowledge on how confidence is developed in the first place. Once these principles are understood nothing can stand in the way of growing confidence and self-esteem.
One method that is getting good results is the use of Pretend Play Kitchens which have the potential to increase self-esteem. This stuff can really provide a positive environment. This will give the child some reference material in which to base their feelings of confidence. When you and your child set a goal, your going to want to accomplish it to increase self-esteem
Play Kitchens are a great way to actively take a role in developing your child’s self-esteem and confidence. A good way to start is to make something for the family, like possibly a cake. Beforehand, write out the recipe on a piece of paper in nice big letters so your child can easily see all the project details. Next, gather the necessary ingredients for the cake, some you might have on hand and others you’ll need to buy at the store.
Once you’ve everything, start by mixing and measuring the amounts together This is a great opportunity to interact in a dynamic way and teach them a few lessons on following directions. How much they get out of this step will be dependent on their age of course. Make certain you allow you child to take an active role in each aspect of the project no matter how messy it might be.
During the project it will be important to positively reinforce successful actions during the preparation process. No matter how small the accomplishment might be, communicate how positive you believe it is and how much you appreciate them. Pretend Play Kitchens provide a good opportunity for lots of positive words, plenty of hugs and massive warm smiles. If this is your first cake baking project together it should be even more special for the two of you.
After all the hard work both of you put into making the cake on your wooden play kitchen set, you can present the completed cake to the rest of the family. Your child’s confidence and self-esteem will rise with the praise and excitement of the whole family
